Quit If Burden To Serve Is Too Much – Uhuru Tells Newly Appointed Ministers

It is going to be ‘business unusual’ in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cabinet.

The Head of State during the swearing in of nine of his newly appointed members of his 22 member Cabinet noted that they can quit if the burden to serve is too much.

“This is a good point for me to say that if at any time, and I repeat at any time, you feel the weight is too much, just say so. There are other Kenyans ready to do the job. Sijui kama tunakubaliana, wenzangu. Nasema kwa heshima ili tuheshimiane (I don’t know if we agree. I am saying this so we can respect each other),” the President said.

Kenyatta also emphasized that appointment to a public office was not an opportunity for one to enrich themselves or self-realization.

He has warned that his last term in office will be about leaving a legacy and realizing his big Four economic agenda. “He will be strict in this last term,” sources within State House have said.

“I look forward to selflessness, integrity, dedication and unmatched excellence to bring our Big Four agenda to the fore,” the President continued.

Taking their oaths of office were: Keriako Tobiko (Environment), Margaret Kobia (Public Sevice and Youth), Monica Juma (Foreign Affairs), John Munyes (Mining).

Also appointed to the Cabinet are; Peter Munya (East African Community), Ukur Yattani (Labour), Rashid Achesa (Sports) and Faridah Karoney (Lands).
