He was apparently attacked by a female bar attendant in a confrontation and rushed to the hospital where he succumbed four days later.

The suspected assailant was arrested pending interrogation and arraignment as the body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy.

In Kangeta, Meru County, the body believed to be of Eric Munene, 41 who was reported missing was exhumed from a shallow grave following an investigation.

The man was reported missing on February 3, 2026. Police said he had been buried in a shallow grave in his father’s land and the body had decomposed.

The motive of the murder was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
