Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and Starehe Member of parliament Charles Njagua (jaguar) have termed Ezekiel Mutua’s regulations that he said will regulate creatives such as video bloggers (vloggers).

Johnso Sakaja said that the arrogance displayed by the KFCB CEO was distasteful and that he would make sure that the Films board is summoned over the new regulations .

Through his Facebook page Ezekiel Mutua said that the regulations set under cap 222 Laws of Kenya were not archaic and still applied to the current situation. He said that the sections that were not aligned to the constitution were repealed.

@EzekielMutua just look at your arrogance and ignorance. Acquaint yourself with the 4th schedule para 4 of the constitution then with some level of common sense. Your attitude is quite is distasteful and disgraceful to public service. Rest assured we have summoned you. pic.twitter.com/o7bRzQ3QmA

I believe and champion for youth empowerment and I will repeal any backward laws whose implementation will affect our youths negatively!

KFCB should not implement any form of rules which will have a negative impact on the creative industry. The Youth are turning to the creative industry as an alternative source of employment and we can't stop them! @InfoKfcb

I’ve just spoken to @EzekielMutua on this and he has asserted that @InfoKfcb are not charging for Youtube and Facebook filming. I have summoned them to the Senate next week together with other stakeholders so that we can agree on how to support the Creative Industry.

Kenyan creatives have agreed with the legislators terming the regulations as archaic and have declared that they will not abide by them.
