The Slovak Republic has announced four government-sponsored scholarships for Kenyan students for the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to a notice published in the MyGov newspaper on Tuesday, April 8, the scholarships were offered through the Slovak Embassy in Nairobi in partnership with Kenya’s Ministry of Education.
“The Government of Kenya has received four (4) scholarships for Bachelor’s leading to Master’s degree studies for the Academic Year 2025/2026 from the Government of the Slovak Republic,” the notice read.
The scholarships will cover full tuition fees, accommodation, and a monthly subsistence allowance for the entire duration of study. However, successful applicants will be required to cater for their own airfare, estimated at around EUR 800, and carry about EUR 800 at the beginning of their stay.
Students will undergo a one-year intensive Slovak language course before beginning their degree studies, which will be conducted in Slovak.
The available fields of study are Teacher Training and Education Sciences, Economics and Management, Biotechnology, and Engineering.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must have scored a minimum grade of B plain in KCSE, be 25 years old or younger, and must have completed their secondary education within the last three years. They should also possess a valid passport issued within the last 10 years, and are required to submit a CV along with recommendation letters from two teachers.
Application forms can be obtained from the Ministry of Education offices at Telposta Towers, 27th Floor, Room 2701, or downloaded from the Ministry’s website at www.education.go.ke under the Scholarships section.
Completed applications, with certified copies of academic and professional certificates, transcripts, ID, birth certificate, and other testimonials, should be sent or delivered to:
