Tax submissions for January 2018 payroll should reflect the new rates. This implementation comes just one year after a similar PAYE Rate change was effected at the start of 2017.

The new rates will see employees save between Ksh.184 and Sh. 667 depending on your salary scale as it has increased from Sh. 1280 to Sh. 1408.

This changes will raise the number of people who will not be required to pay taxes especially those who earn the least taxable income from the salary scale. Currently the threshold for taxation lies at  Sh.12260 but with this new regime it will be raised to Sh.13486.
