    Three To Be Arraigned in Court,17 Million Recovered As Thika Heist Crackdown Heightens

    Three men aged between 30-32 who were arrested in Kiambu on Saturday following the robbery that took place at KCB bank in Thika are set to be arraigned at Thika law courts today(27 November).

    The heist that got the nation talking was allegedly planned for six months which included digging of underground tunnels.

    The three, Charles Mwangi Murakaru 30, Halford Munene Murakaru 32 and Julius Wainaina 32 were arrested at Marurui estate in Kiambu County.

    Despite being arrested in Kiambu, the suspects had according to police reports had hidden the money in Juja town at a house in Joy land estate.

    Investigators who led the operation are said to have recovered  Sh 17,135,000 after counting for over three hours and which was in the following currencies;

    1311 Us dollars.
    340 Great Britain Pounds.
    5 Canadian Dollars.
    85 Australia dollars
    46,000 Tanzania shillings.
    40 South Africa rand.
    20,000 Ugandan shillings.

    All cash has been transferred to KCB headquarters Nairobi for safe custody. Breaking instruments were recovered together with various Kenyan National Identity Card among others.
