The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has invited applications for the nomination and appointment of two members to the Commission.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Chairperson of the Selection Panel, Isaac Njenga, said qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

According to the notice, applicants must be Kenyan citizens, hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya, and have at least 10 years’ experience in education, governance, management or law. Candidates must also meet the integrity requirements set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution.

The Commission said the successful candidates will be responsible for formulating policies to achieve its mandate, providing strategic direction and oversight to the Secretariat, and ensuring compliance with teaching standards prescribed under the Teachers Service Commission Act (Cap. 212).

Other responsibilities include managing the teachers’ payroll, facilitating career progression and professional development, overseeing appointments of head teachers and principals, and monitoring the conduct and performance of teachers in service.

The appointed members will serve a single, non-renewable term of six years.

Applicants are required to submit a detailed curriculum vitae of not more than three pages, in Times New Roman font size 12 and double-spaced, along with copies of academic and professional certificates, a national identity card or passport, and other relevant testimonials. Scanned copies of these documents must accompany online applications.

Applications should be clearly marked “Application for the position of two members, Teachers Service Commission” and submitted either by hand delivery to the Ministry of Public Service offices at Harambee House in Nairobi, via email to selectionpaneltsc@psyg.go.ke, or by post to the Selection Panel.

“Names of all applicants will be published on the Ministry of Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes website, while shortlisted candidates and interview schedules will be announced in the daily newspapers and on the Ministry’s website after the closure of the advertisement,” the notice stated.

All applications must be received by Monday, May 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. East African Time.
