The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has invited members of the public and stakeholders to submit memoranda on proposed amendments to Regulation 20 of the Code of Regulations for Teachers.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, TSC Chief Executive Officer Eveleen Mitei said the proposed changes are anchored in Section 47(2) of the Teachers Service Commission Act.

The Commission said the amendments target Regulation 20, which outlines the qualification framework for teacher registration.

“The proposed amendments aim to review the qualifications for teacher registration to align the framework with emerging educational standards, professional requirements and national policy objectives,” the notice stated.

In line with Section 5 of the Statutory Instruments Act, 2013, TSC has called on stakeholders and the public to submit written memoranda on the proposals. Details of the amendments are at www.tsc.go.ke.

Submissions should be clearly marked “Memoranda on Proposed Amendments to Regulation 20 of the Code of Regulations for Teachers” and sent via email to regulation20@tsc.go.ke.

The deadline for submission is May 13, 2026.
