Residents of Bombolulu area in Mombasa County on Monday woke up to a bizarre incident of two new born babies dumped in a local dump site.
The babies who residents believe were twins, were found by streets urchins in the area at around 10 am.
According to reports by area residents, the acts have been on the rise in the recent past, some attributing the vice to lack of morals in the area.
Further, young parents who locals termed irresponsible were blamed for deteriorating morals.
“This is not the first time we are seeing this, we have been collecting dead bodies of new born babies and taking them to the mortuary,” said Mariam Juma.
“We have even saved some from streets dogs.”
Consequently, residents are now appealing to the county government to close the dump site as it posses a health hazard to locals.

“We are asking the county government to help us close down this dump site, there are many houses here and even businesses. Even our kids who play around here are now exposed to potential health effects,” said Mrs Juma.
The identity of the person who dumped the babies is yet to be established. However, residents have been urged to provide information to authorities for immediate action to be taken.
