The USA through its acting secretary of state for African affairs Donald Yamamoto has maintained that the swearing in of Raila Odinga would be unhelpful to Kenya.

The US secretary has said that Kenya remains among the top important African countries to the USA and is expected to demonstrate the highest level of Democracy.

He said that Raila Odinga was known and respected for trying  to achieve political reforms. The US maintains that dialogue would be the best route for Kenya as both president Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have said that their main agenda is to achieve political reforms.

“We have known the former prime minister  over the years . He has a great story- the need for political reform. He stands as a model for reform;he is famous and respected for reforms,” Yamamoto said

Raila Odinga had earlier declared that he would still be sworn in as the peoples president. He said that he was ready to be sworn in and die for it.

The former prime minister said that he was ready to pay the price in order to achieve electoral justice even if it meant dying for it. His message was directed to Attorney General Githu Muigai who declared that if sworn in Raila Odinga, he would be charged for treason.
