There was chaos in Mombasa after Governor Hassan Joho and Senator Hassan Omar’s supporters clashed at Tononoka grounds.

Joho’s supporters allegedly tried to block the senator from getting on stage. Pepper spray was used by the clashing youths.

NASA presidential candidate, Raila Odinga did not however endorse either of them saying: ”Hii ni mkutano ya Urais na tarehe nane Mombasa mtaamua kama ni Joho ama ni Sarai.”

Kalonzo Musyoka’s attempts to calm the crowd proved futile.

The two belong to the NASA coalition and are both looking to bag the Mombasa governor seat.

They have been throwing accusations at each other with Senator Omar blaming the ODM governor of destroying his campaign vehicle in July.

Calm has since been restored at the Mama Ngina grounds.
