20 MPs are currently in Russia for the World Cup for a ‘bench-marking’ exercise.
The legislators, led by nominated senator Millicent Omanga strongly came out to defend themselves claiming that some of them including herself are self-sponsored.
Omanga says that she has been attending the World Cup since she was 20 years old and she always saves for the trips.
National Assembly Speaker, Justin Muturi has defend the legislators saying that the visit is not a bad thing and that the Sports and Culture Committee as well as the Bunge FC members were the only ones attending.

The Speaker says that the legislators will compile a report which will be tabled in parliament as soon as they return.
