Unknown people on Saturday night attacked Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo’s mother at her home.
Agnes Njeri Kilonzo was attacked with what has been described as a machete. She suffered a cut on the head.
Ms Kilonzo was rushed to Matuu Level Four Hospital for treatment but was on Sunday airlifted to a Nairobi hospital for specialized treatment.
Yatta police boss Erick Ng’etich has confirmed the incident and has assured those concerned that investigations into the matter are well underway.
