Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah Friday castigated President William Ruto saying there was little to praise his administration for two years office.
The combative Senator, now a 2027 presidential hopeful, further decried the spiralling cost of living adding that already the situation was getting out of hand for millions of Kenyans .
“Our people are hurting ,many of them suffering silently, we can only change the course through good and effective leadership,” Omtatah said in a speech read on his behalf by Mary Muthomi in Kisii early Friday.
Muthomi is chair Omtatah Exploratory committee and the members had been going round collecting views to aid him formulate good policies.
It borders on the absurdity, the Senator observed, that Kenyans are reaping nothing but heartaches due to umet promises made during the electioneering period by Ruto.
“To have an economic friendly country,we must review certain policies, much is already going South,” Omtatah stated.
Muthomi, on her part, asked the government to revive Linda mama program to help women and the girl-child.
Robert Kebabe, a delegate said the Social Health Authority ( SHA) has challenges and urged the government to revert to National Hospital Insurance Fund ( NHIF) and improve it to benefit majority of poor Kenyans.
Mabuka Undege, a delegate said he was he tired with handshakes after every election adding that there weaken the opposition.
