Tanzanian President John P. Magufuli has ordered the Dar-es-salaam Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda to ensure that the fan who ran into the field during the Gor Mahia – Everton match be released.

The fan stormed the field to hug the Manchester United hero, Wayne Rooney during the match.

The RC revealed that the state wished not to pursue any criminal charges against the fan as it is believed that he was only after hugging one of the best footballers in the world and nothing else.

The fan was released without any charges.

Everton won the match 2-1 in a thrilling encounter.
