    Govt Announces 200 Driver Vacancies At Ministry Of Education

    The Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development has announced 200 job vacancies for drivers across various counties under the Ministry of Education.

    In a public notice issued on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, the ministry invited applications from qualified individuals for the position of Driver II, CSG 15.

    “The Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Driver II, CSG 15 at the Ministry of Education,” the notice reads.

    Nairobi County has the highest number of openings with 13 positions, followed by Meru and Wajir (8 each), Turkana and Bungoma (7 each), and Kitui, Mandera, and West Pokot (6 each). All 47 counties are included in the recruitment drive.

    Applicants must have a minimum KCSE mean grade of D (plain) and hold a valid driving license for the classes of vehicles they intend to operate.

    They should have completed a First Aid course lasting at least one week at St. John Ambulance, the Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT), or any other recognized institution.

    Additionally, candidates must have passed the Suitability Test Grade III, possess a valid Police Clearance Certificate, and have at least two years of driving experience.

    Successful applicants will be responsible for driving government vehicles as authorized, carrying out routine checks, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the vehicles.

    They will also be expected to maintain work tickets for vehicles assigned to them and ensure the security of the vehicle, passengers, and goods.

    The position offers a monthly salary ranging between Sh19,340 and Sh24,470, along with house allowance, a commuter allowance of Sh3,000, and a leave allowance of Sh4,000. The terms of employment are permanent.

    Qualified individuals are required to complete the Application for Employment Form PSC 2 (Revised 2016), which is available on the Public Service Commission website.

    All applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. (East African Time) on May 2, 2025.

    Applications can be hand-delivered to the Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development at Uchumi House, 12th Floor, Room 1201, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

    Alternatively, applications can be submitted via email to recruitment.drivers2025@psyg.go.ke. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
