Police are investigating an incident where a worker died at a construction site in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area.

The victim identified as Frankline Makori, 42 was among a group of masons at the site along Galore Street when he slipped and fell from the seventh floor.

They were constructing the structure Tuesday May 6 when the incident happened.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival with broken limbs.

Police visited the scene and ordered its closure pending an investigation.

This is the latest such incident to happen in the industry amid calls for strict enforcement of the law by relevant authorities.

Dozens of workers die in such incidents at construction sites.

Meanwhile, two people drowned in separate incidents reported to police.

The first incident happened in Uriri, Migori County, where the body of a minor aged 10 was found in a dam in their home.

The boy was in grade two at a local school. Circumstances of the drowning were not made clear at the time the body was retrieved and taken to the mortuary pending autopsy.

In Imenti, Meru County, the body of a woman was found floating on the river Kanjeru.

Police officers visited the scene and established that the deceased body was of an unknown female adult, which was floating in the river, and the body had decomposed beyond recognition.

Police said some body parts were missing.

The body was moved to the Kanyakine sub-county hospital morgue, awaiting identification and autopsy.

Elsewhere in Nairobi’s Embakasi area, a man was stoned to death after a failed robbery.

The man was accused of breaking into a dwelling house with intent to steal.

The man was later rescued by police and taken to hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Police say mob lynching is criminal and have been running a campaign to stop the trend.
