Drawing buildings can be a fun way to practice sketching straight lines and understanding shapes. Whether you’re drawing a simple house or a city skyline, it’s easy to start with basic steps and add details as you go. Here is how to draw buildings.

    1. Draw the Basic Shape

Start with a rectangle or square as the main part of your building. Use a pencil and ruler to help you draw straight lines. If the building is tall, use a vertical rectangle. If it’s wide, use a horizontal one.

    1. Add the Roof

On top of the rectangle, draw a triangle for a classic roof or a flat line for a modern style. For buildings with more detail, you can add extra layers, angles, or even curved rooflines.

    1. Sketch Windows and Doors

Draw small squares or rectangles for windows. Space them evenly across the building. Add a larger rectangle near the bottom for the door. You can make windows simple or add frames and cross-lines to show glass panes.

    1. Include Details

Make your drawing more realistic by adding bricks, lines for siding, curtains in the windows, or flower boxes. You can also add stairs, balconies, or chimneys depending on the type of building you want.

    1. Draw Surroundings (Optional)

To complete the scene, sketch trees, clouds, cars, or even people around the building. This adds context and makes your drawing feel more alive.

    1. Trace and Erase

Use a black pen or marker to trace your final lines. Once the ink is dry, erase the pencil lines. This helps your drawing look clean and clear.

    1. Add Colour

Colour in the building with crayons, coloured pencils, or markers. Choose shades for the walls, roof, windows, and surroundings. You can use bright colours or stick to natural tones for a realistic look.
