A strawberry is a fun and easy fruit to draw. With its heart-like shape, small seeds, and leafy top, it makes a great subject for beginner and young artists. Follow these simple steps on how to draw a strawberry.
- Draw the Outline of the Strawberry
Start by drawing a wide “V” shape with rounded edges to form the main body. This shape should look like an upside-down heart. It represents the overall form of the strawberry.
- Add the Crown (Leaves)
At the top of the strawberry, draw a series of curved, pointed shapes to create the leafy crown. These should look like small leaves or petals pointing outward in different directions.
- Sketch the Stem
From the center of the leaves, draw a short curved line going upward to show the stem. It can be slightly bent for a more natural look.
- Draw the Seeds
Inside the strawberry, draw small oval or teardrop shapes scattered across the surface. These represent the seeds. Space them out evenly, and tilt them slightly to match the curve of the strawberry.
- Add Texture and Details
Lightly sketch some curved lines to show the roundness of the fruit. You can add a shadow on one side to make the strawberry look more three-dimensional.
- Outline the Drawing
Go over your pencil lines with a pen or dark marker. Trace carefully around the outline, leaves, stem, and seeds to make your drawing stand out.
- Erase and Color
After the ink has dried, erase any extra pencil lines. You can now color the strawberry red, the seeds yellow or light brown, and the leaves green. Use a darker red on the edges to add shading and depth.
