A man was arrested after he took his dead wife to hospital with stab wounds in Kasarani area, Nairobi.
Ruth Wangare was pronounced dead on arrival at the St John’s Hospital in Githurai on Sunday June 29 at night.
The deceased had a stab wound in the left upper side of the stomach.
Police were called to the scene and accompanied the man to his house where a kitchen knife with a pink handle was recovered. The knife is believed to be the murder weapon, police said.
The man was detained pending investigations and autopsy on the body, which was moved to the mortuary.
Police said the man was yet to open up on what transpired to lead to the death of the woman and that they are investigating murder.
Meanwhile, a man was taken to Ololulunga sub-county hospital in Narok while unconscious after a domestic fight.
Police said Timothy Karori Wanjahi, 30 was brought to the hospital by his former girlfriend.
He went to her house in the area before a fight broke out between the two.
Neighbours told police they heard the two quarrel and fight. It was then that the man was stabbed in the back of rge head.
The woman later tried to help him by rushing him to the local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body has two stab wounds on the back of the head and on the left arm.
The lady was arrested and placed in custody to assist with investigations.
The body was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting autopsy.
Police said they are investigating murder after the woman claimed the deceased had arrived at her house while bleeding and injured.
Murder cases linked to domestic quarrels have been on the rise amid calls for sobriety to solve such disagreements amicably.
