A 33-year-old man was found dead with a stab wound in the chest after a domestic fight with her husband in a village in Wanguru, Kirinyaga County.

Police said Simon Ngugi was stabbed once in the chest on January 17 following an altercation with his wife at their house.

The man is said to have returned home late and picked up a quarrel with his wife. The wife told police she picked up a kitchen knife that she used to stab the man and ran away.

The deceased was found in a pool of blood minutes later and rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

It was established that he had been stabbed on the left side of the chest and his trouser had blood stains but had no shirt.

Police said they arrested the woman for questioning over the murder.

Elsewhere in Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County, a man hacked and killed a 61-year-old woman in a domestic feud.

He also injured two others in the drama before locals came to their rescue. Police said the locals attacked and seriously wounded the suspected assailant before he was also rescued and rushed to the hospital.

The other injured relatives were also rushed to the hospital with multiple injuries, police said of the Saturday incident.

Police said the suspect was treated and discharged and detained in custody pending arraignment as they identified the deceased as Priscah Kinyua.

A panga believed to have been used in the murder was recovered at the scene. Witnesses said the assailant argued with the relatives before he turned violent and armed himself with the panga that he used in the attack.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

And tenants of an apartment were shocked to find the body of a man in a well that was in use in Riruta, Nairobi.

John Ngugi, 27 was missing for four days and the tenants and his family did not know he had died by suicide in the well. The tenants were disturbed by a bad smell from the well and went to check when they found his body floating.

The body had decomposed by the time it was discovered and retrieved. Police said they recovered a suicide note near the scene and it was being analyzed to establish if he is the one who authored it.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
