Demet Akalın is one of Turkey’s most prominent pop singers, known for her powerful voice, energetic performances, and numerous hit songs that have dominated the charts since the mid-2000s.
Born on April 23, 1972, in Gölcük, Kocaeli, she comes from a family with diverse ethnic roots, including Laz ancestry on her father’s side, as well as Tatar and Bosniak heritage through her maternal grandparents.
