Gently pat or speak to the horse to build trust before mounting.

    • Approach from the side
    • Stay calm and relaxed
    • Let the horse get used to you
    1. Mount the Horse Properly

To get on the horse, stand on the left side and place your left foot in the stirrup. Hold the reins and saddle, then gently swing your right leg over.

Sit down slowly and adjust your position.

    • Use the stirrup for support
    • Avoid jumping onto the horse
    • Sit gently to keep the horse calm
    1. Maintain the Correct Posture

Good posture is important for balance and control. Sit upright with your back straight and shoulders relaxed.

Keep your heels down and your hands steady while holding the reins.

    • Look forward, not down
    • Keep your body balanced
    • Relax your arms and legs
    1. Learn Basic Commands

Horses respond to simple commands given through reins, legs, and voice.

Gently pull the reins to stop, loosen them to move forward, and use light leg pressure to guide direction.

    • Use gentle movements
    • Avoid pulling too hard
    • Stay consistent with commands
    1. Practice and Stay Safe

Like any skill, horse riding improves with regular practice. Start slowly and ride in a safe, controlled environment.

Wearing protective gear such as a helmet is important for safety.

    • Practice regularly
    • Ride in a safe area
    • Always wear protective gear
