Jule Brand is a German professional footballer born on 16 October 2002 in Germersheim, Rhineland-Palatinate.
She is known for her pace, dribbling ability, technical skill, and tactical intelligence.
She currently plays for French club Olympique Lyon, also referred to as OL Lyonnes.
Brand is also a regular for the Germany women’s national team.
She has repeatedly said that becoming a national team player was her childhood dream. She attended the Nikolaus-von-Weis-Gymnasium in Speyer and completed her Abitur in 2022.
In 2026, her former youth club’s stadium in Dudenhofen was renamed the Jule-Brand-Stadion in her honour.
Siblings
Jule has an older brother named Felix Brand, who was born in 2001 and is roughly one and a half to two years her senior.
Felix introduced her to football. She has recalled that when he started playing, she always went along with him.
She first kicked a ball with him in the garden before later joining him at training. Felix progressed through the youth academies of TSG Hoffenheim and Mainz 05.
He later played as a left-back or defender at senior level. His senior career included a spell with third-division side FSV Zwickau from 2021 to 2023.
A serious knee injury curtailed his professional playing career. After spending further time in lower leagues, including with TuS Mechtersheim, he moved into coaching.
He has worked as a co-trainer at Regionalliga club VFC Plauen. He has also worked as an individual and performance coach.
Career
Brand began playing organised football in boys’ teams at FV Dudenhofen and JSG JFV Ganerb. She later moved to the girls’ side of FC Speyer 09.
In the winter of 2018, she joined the youth ranks of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
She progressed quickly through the U17 side and then the second team in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga. She made the step up to Hoffenheim’s first team in 2020.

Brand established herself as a regular over the next two seasons. In the summer of 2022, she transferred to VfL Wolfsburg on a multi-year deal.
With Wolfsburg, she won consecutive DFB-Pokal titles. She also helped the club reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in the 2022–23 season.
After her contract expired at the end of the 2024–25 season, she joined Olympique Lyon in the summer of 2025. She signed a deal with Lyon running until 2028.
At international level, Brand represented Germany at various youth age groups. She won the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship with Germany in 2019.
She earned her first senior cap in April 2021 against Australia. She scored within minutes of coming off the bench in that match.
Since then, she has become a mainstay of the Germany national team.
She has featured in major tournaments including the 2022 European Championship, the 2023 World Cup, the 2024 Olympic Games, and the 2025 European Championship.
Accolades
With Germany’s Under-17 side, Brand won the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship in 2019. At senior level, she was a runner-up at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022.
She claimed a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
She also finished as runner-up in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
At club level with VfL Wolfsburg, she lifted the DFB-Pokal Frauen in both 2022–23 and 2023–24. She scored in the 2024 final against Bayern Munich.
She also reached the Champions League final with Wolfsburg in the 2022–23 season.
After moving to Lyon, she contributed to domestic success including the Première Ligue title and Coupe de France in the 2025–26 season.
She also helped Lyon reach the Champions League final.
Individually, Brand received the Fritz Walter Medal in gold for the best U19 player in 2021.
She became the inaugural winner of the Golden Girl award as Europe’s outstanding under-21 female player in 2022.
She was awarded the Silbernes Lorbeerblatt in 2024.
She was also selected to the UEFA Women’s Championship Team of the Tournament in 2025.
