luhyaLuhya MPs from both political divides want CS for Water, Eugene Wamalwa and ANC leader, Musalia Mudavadi to work together for the betterment of the Mulembe nation.

The western region is a vote rich area that has not in the past voted as a block, as has been the case in the central and rift valley regions.

The second highest population in Kenya with 18 sub-tribes has in the recent past tried to stand as one but events took a turn for the worst after the Bukusu and the Maragoli came to blows.

CS Wamalwa is said to have been pelted with stones during an event in Vihiga; where the rowdy youths were allegedly hired by opposition leader, Mudavadi.

The Water CS, speaking on Tuesday in Bungoma said that he will lead his people come 2022 and will elbow out the ANC leader in whom they have lost ‘respect and confidence.’

”I’m serving him (Mudavadi) a notice of intention, come 2022, because of failure of leadership on his part, I want to come back and tell him that I will be back come 2022,” Wamalwa said.

Jubilee versus NASA politics have divided the Mulembe nation down the middle; something that saw the ruling party gain ground during the August 8 elections.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s approval ratings in some of the western counties greatly improved with his party bagging 33 parliamentary seats.

In Kakamega, for instance Uhuru got 63,191 votes, up from the 12,469 he got in 2013. His main rival, NASA candidate Raila Odinga, got 481,118 votes, up from the 303,120 of 2013.

Now the area MPs led by Nambale’s Sakwa Bunyasi, want Wamalwa, Mudavadi and Bungoma Seantor, Moses Wetangula to put aside their differences and champion the peoples interests.

”Luhya community is the second in population but we are not capitalizing on our strength politically, we need to unite and work together for the sake of this country’s prosperity,” Bunyasi said.

”We want our top three Luhya leaders CS water Eugene Wamalwa, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and my senator Moses Wetangula to come together and meet and talk on how we are going to champion the interest of our people which is a very key thing in this time and era,” said Mwambu Mabonga (Bumula).
