Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has told impeached Nairobi county assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi to give up on the quest to be speaker.

He told the embattled speaker that fighting the decision by the members of the county assembly was an effort in futility as that was a done deal and she should accept and move on.

You should accept fate and move on. That to me looks like a done deal. Separation of powers you know?

    — Hon. William Kabogo (@honkabogo) September 7, 2018

This comes after Ms Elachi vowed to fight her impeachment up to the Supreme Court. MCAs impeached her in absentia saying that she was abusing her office especially in regard to the procurement of the speakers house.

Some of the MCAs said that she deliberately missed the sitting as she was aware that the motion was to be put to vote on that particular day.

Only two MCAs supported Speaker Elachi with 103 voting against her, 14 MCAs were absent and two absconded.

She manged to get a court order stopping her impeachment.
