Sylvia Mulinge, the new Managing Director of Vodacom Tanzania is yet to start working in her new position after the Tanzanian immigration department failed to produce her work permit four months after her appointment. Her appointment would only be effective after the work permit was processed. The firm said that Sylvia Mulinge applied for the work permit in May and is yet to receive a response from the immigration department. Police in Kampala have arrested Mr. Taylor Smith an American Citizen who was caught on camera assaulting the staff at Grand Imperial Hotel. In the video that has since gone viral, Mr Smith is seen punching and humiliating a hotel staff while hurling insults. Ugandans reacted to this video angrily and demanded for his arrest. Casual workers from the the Naivasha sub county have cried foul over the decision to disengage them after working for more than 5 years. According to a petition seen by Kahawa Tungu, the 29 workers obtained an order from the court asking to be reinstated and given appointment letters as permanent and pensionable workers. The court ordered the county government to pay the workers the salary arrears which amounted to close to one year. He had been missing for about a week and the family had reported that he left home in Kingeero on Monday 6 August after work and had not been to work since then. During the petition the MP was allegedly  kicked out of the court for presenting fake hospital documents. Kiambu Governor Waititu who has been vocal against the demolition of buildings was found to be an owner of an illegally constructed building in Nairobi CBD.
