The Independence electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) has slated the by election for Kitui West to be on March 26. Wiper which is the strongest party in the region has fronted the widow of the late MP Francis nyeze, Edith Nyenze as the best successor for the seat. Teachers at St Joseph Academy Kakamega woke up to a rude shock to being terminated. The teachers are said to have been terminated with immediate effect. The school that is run by the Nuns from sisters of Mary Mukumu said the termination was due to the change in management. Former Kakamega senator Boniface Khalwale has accused the county and National government of turning Uhuru Highway into a cash minting cow under the premise of ‘Beautification.’ He has highlighted that during Alfred Mutua’s stint as government spokesperson, millions of shillings were poured into the beautification of the Highway. A police officer attached to Kongoni police station in Naivasha shot and killed his girlfriend within the police station. The reasons behind the shooting are still unclear. Head teachers in Kisii have urged the National transport and safety Authority (NTSA) to lift the night travel ban in order to avoid delays in school activities during the first term. A court in Rongo, Migori county has nullified the nomination of 12 ODM MCAs after findings that the list that was presented by the party did not satisfy the gender requirement that is prescribed in the constitution. 300 workers working for the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in Naivasha have gone on strike citing poor working conditions. The high court in Kisumu has dismissed the petition challenging the election of Professor Anyang Nyong’o as Kisumu Governor. The court said that the former governor Jack Ranguma who was the petitioner failed to provide sufficient evidence to win the bid against Anyang Nyong’o. A bus belonging to the City Shuttle bus company was involved in accident on Wednesday  when it overturned along Kenyatta avenue . Ronald Karauri has said that the withdrawal will be effective immediately and all clubs and federations that the company sponsors.
