Police are pursuing a fellow cop who is said to have sexually assaulted a minor at a police station. The officer who has since fled his work station at Adungosi Police Station, Busia County reportedly raped the Form Two student as she recorded a statement. The girl was at the station reporting another case of defilement by a boda boda rider. Remandees from Industrial Area Prison are complaining of the assault and discrimination that they receive from the prison police officers. In June 2018, a prison officer, SP Wilson K. Tonui, is said to have assaulted a man named John Kibowen who died in one of the prison blocks in the presence of inmates. A matatu driver from Bomet County was subjected to assault and thievery after two policemen attacked him for refusing to part away with bribe. The driver, Bernard Yegon, was attacked with a pistol and his teeth knocked out for allegedly being rude. According to his narration in one of the dailies, the officers grabbed him and began to frisk him, but as he tried to resist they knocked him on the jaw with the pistol causing him to fall down. Mombasa county residents want coffin shops moved far away from the Coast Provincial Referral Hospital. The sight of the caskets, residents say, leaves patients and family members traumatized as they walk in and out of the hospital. Nairobi Woman Representative was among forty eight bike riders drawn from Britain, Australia and Kenya who on Sunday arrived in Mombasa after a three-day cycling event.
