Uber Kenya has now introduced Phone Anonymization, a feature which involves the hiding of both the driver and rider’s contacts. This new feature will however ensure that the driver and the rider can still communicate with each other without their phone numbers being exposed to each other. Illegal structures along Fedha Road, Embakasi East constituency have been brought down by the Nairobi county in conjunction with the police. The kiosks which are apparently sit on the road reserve are owned by criminal gangs who charged between Sh5,000 and Sh.10,000. The gangs which are common in the area depended on the kiosks to hide their real criminal activities including land grabbing, rape, murder and robbery. Unilever Nigeria has responded to a video that has since gone viral showing Blue Band Spread under heat. A scoop of the margarine is put in boiling water but does not melt. The Great Lakes Orchestra, an Ignite Afrika program that aims at identifying and nurturing kids’ talent in music, dance and circus is all set for the grand reveal on August 24, 2018 at the Aga Khan Hall, Kisumu. Police engaged the traders in a teargas run on Thursday morning as they held a protest around Wakulima market to complain about hefty rates by the county government and the arrest of their Chairman on Wednesday evening. Absa Bank, a subsidiary of Barclays Africa Group Limited has introduced to its digital banking strategy, WhatsApp Banking. Absa, South Africa clients will henceforth perform instant transactions using the bank’s ChatBanking services, which are available on Facebook Messenger, Twitter and now WhatsApp. The service will allow clients to get their bank balance, buy electricity, purchase airtime and data via Whatsapp. Whatsapp recently launched its banking and transactional services in India but on trial basis. Kotak Mahindra Bank was among the first banking institutions to adopt the idea. Moi Girls’ School, Nairobi male teachers and casual laborers did not sexually assault the form 2 student on June 1, 2018. The 32 men including the Drama teacher have been exonerated following DNA test results that have been released by the Government Chemist. Three Busia County officials charged alongside Governor Sospeter Ojaamong have filed a petition to the Employment and Labour Relations court to stop the County government from suspending them.
