Illegal structures along Fedha Road, Embakasi East constituency have been brought down by the Nairobi county in conjunction with the police.
The kiosks which are apparently sit on the road reserve are owned by criminal gangs who charged between Sh5,000 and Sh.10,000.
The gangs which are common in the area depended on the kiosks to hide their real criminal activities including land grabbing, rape, murder and robbery.
The Embakasi OCPD provided security while county government operations were coordinated by Sub-County Administrator Selina Ogalo.
Governor Mike Sonko has insisted that residents must respect road reserves as he seeks to expand major roads.
The county government, Sonko says, will cooperate with other road agencies involved to improve the condition of our roads.
