A Nyeri Member of the County Assembly (MCA) has died at the Outspan Hospital. Peter Weru collapsed while addressing the crowd at Nduduini Primary School, Mathira constituency during the Jamhuri Day celebrations. Confirming his death was Governor Mutahi Kahiga who said that the MCA was receiving treatment when he died. Twenty people are feared dead following a multiple car crash at the notorious, dreaded Sachangwan area on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
