The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested a man who sexually assaulted and severely injured a 25-year-old woman in Bomet. Announcing the arrest, the DCI noted that the suspect Bernard Ng’etich who committed the heinous act on August 7, 2019, was nabbed following a man-hunt on him. Sixty people have been confirmed dead and 70 others seriously injured on Saturday morning after a petroleum tanker burst into flames at Msamvu in Morogoro town, Tanzania. Confirming the reports, Morogoro Regional Police Commander Wilbroad Mutafungwa noted that those who were killed in the accident were 60. Police officers have destroyed bhang worth Ksh6 million in Rongo town, Migori County. The exercise which took place on Friday was overseen by Rongo Resident Magistrate Raymond Langat and Rongo Assistant County Commissioner Peter Nyandat. Police officers were on Saturday morning forced to chase away worshippers as chaos rocked Nairobi Central SDA church. Ugandan activist Stella Nyanzi has on Friday filed a complaint against the prisons over mistreatment as well as failure to produce her in court for her sentencing. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is set to introduce a bill that will have Nairobians pay Ksh25 tax for every chicken brought from upcountry. According to his administration, the bill will see Nairobi residents pay Ksh25 tax for every chicken that enters the capital city.
