One person has died and three others injured in Soysambu, Gilgil after their vehicle rolled several times. According to Gilgil base commander Robert Mugo, the accident happened as the victims followed a Safari Rally car. He noted that the vehicle rolled a number of times as the four left the Soysambu Conservancy after completion of the rally. The government has announced another round of Huduma Namba registration for Kenyans that will last for two weeks. According to Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna, the new drive will target the people who missed out on the one-week extension announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta after the May 25 deadline. The National Assembly has confirmed that the Central Bank of Kenya failed to follow the due process in the rolling out of the new currency. A letter dated June 27, 2019, from the Clerk of the National Assembly Michael Sialai to the activist Okiya Omtata confirms that. Police officers in Bungoma have arrested a man suspected to be mentally ill after he was found with Ksh250,000 and a consignment of banned polythene bags. According to the police, the suspect, identified as Shikuku, was nabbed during a sting operation that included officials of the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA). Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has ordered for the arrest of all unlicenced gun-holders who are yet to surrender them to the police. Police have gunned down three suspected robbers in Marurui area, Nairobi. According to the police, the robbers have been notorious for mugging and violently robbing residents in the area.
