The prestigious Royalton Hotel, that sits on a 3.68 acre piece of land has been put up for auction. Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndung’u is set to record a statement at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices on Tuesday over graft claims. Divulging this to the Star, DCI director George Kinoti noted that the apex court judge had made a request to record the statement through her lawyers. Uganda’s Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga was on Friday airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment following her admission to hospital on Thursday. According to Uganda’s media outlets, the speaker was airlifted to Nairobi in a bid to seek a second professional opinion after she had been admitted to the ICU. A traffic officer discovered a haul of Ksh1.5 million worth of bhang in a vehicle that was involved in an accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway on Saturday morning. The motorist who was ferrying bhang is claimed to have attempted to overtake other vehicles in a bid to dodge police inspection when the accident happened. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers have appealed to members of the public who lost their laptops to visit their offices for identification. Posting on their social media on Saturday, the DCI announced that they seized a number of stolen laptops at a warehouse in Nairobi. Supreme Court Judge Mohamed Ibrahim’s security guard has withdrawn a complaint he had filed on Thursday against the judge. According to initial reports, the judge had been accused of threatening to shoot Mr Ronald Ayiele. However, Mr Ayiela withdrew the complaint claiming that the judge had apologized for his actions.
