Two people who included a 15-year-old boy drowned in separate incidents reported on Sunday February 1, 2026. The other victim included a woman, police said. In the first incident, a boy aged 15 was found drowned in the Sumuko semi dam in Kaburwa, Koibatek, Eldama Ravine, Baringo County. A 32-year-old man was found dead after being stabbed in a robbery incident in Huruma area, Nairobi. He was identified as Cyrus Ngumbi. He is said to have been on his way home on Sunday night when he was confronted by his assailants who wanted money and other valuables. A former senior police officer was on Monday morning arrested after he shot and killed a man in a confrontation outside a supermarket in Joska, Machakos County. A night guard was hacked to death while his two colleagues were injured in a robbery at a godown in Athi River, Machakos County. The guard was identified as Patrick Chepkwony and was an employee of Pawn Security Company Limited.
