A rare earthquake hit New Jersey, rattling buildings in New York City and its surrounding areas on Friday.  The United States Geological Survey said the magnitude-4.8 quake’s epicentre was just north-east of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. Former Riruta Ward MCA Samuel Njoroge and two others; his girlfriend Joyce Njambi and one Wilson Mungai, have been found guilty of the murder of Lucy Njambi. Njambi was kidnapped, raped, and doused in acid in 2018. Justice Joel Ngugi on Friday said that the evidence provided by the prosecution implicated the trio in the murder most gruesome. A bodaboda rider is nursing wounds in a hospital after he was hit and badly injured in a robbery in Ngong area. The victim had picked up a pillion passenger from Ngong Town to a nearby area popularly known as Booster when the incident happened on Wednesday night. A falling tree hit and killed a 62-year-old woman in Kakuzi forest, Murang’a County. Police said the incident happened on Wednesday April 3 as the deceased identified as Agnes Njeri Mwaniki and her nieces went to collect firewood from the forest. Witnesses said as they collected the firewood, some men were felling trees using a power saw. Inspector Kelian Felix Ole Kintosi, who died following an altercation with DJ Joe Mfalme and his handlers was burier in his Kajiado rural home.  Kintosi was buried in an emotional ceremony at his home in Kajiado County on April 2. South African footballer Luke Fleurs was shot dead in a car hijacking, his team says. The shooting took place at a petrol station on Wednesday night in the Johannesburg suburb of Florida. Residents of Chepkinoyo village in Kamobo location, Nandi County are living in fear after a herder lost ten sheep to an attack by a wild animal. The residents want Kenya Wildlife Service to camp there and capture the animal believed to be a leopard. This is after on Wednesday April 3, a farmer Noah Kipkemboi found ten sheep carcasses. Members of an elite police squad are mourning the death of their colleague who was stabbed and killed by his wife in the Kiplombe area in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County.
