A Nairobi Court has acquitted businessman Yagnesh Devani and four others in USD 365,974.05 Triton saga after 22 years. The court on Monday said the prosecution failed to prove fraud claims against Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB). Last month, Devani was charged for stealing 318.656 Metric tons of Jet Fuel after being on the run since 2008 when he is said to have committed the offence. Mystery surrounds the death of a man in Kitengela after he had inhaled contents of a container he found in a bar on Saturday evening. Peter Muturi Meriti died in hospital after he complained of pain and started to bleed from his nose. He said he had passed by a bar in the town and spotted a container and decided to open it when he was met with a bad odor from it. The body of a 21-year-old man was found on a railway line after he had been killed by a train in Bonje area, Mombasa. Police said the incident happened Sunday morning and the deceased was identified as Hamisi Said aged 21. The body was found having been crushed by a train along the meter gauge railway line. Police are investigating a tragic incident in which two boys aged 12 and 13 drowned at an apartment swimming pool in Kilimani area, Nairobi. The two were on a swimming expedition on Sunday afternoon when they drowned at Maki Apartments, police said. Police said they were called to the scene and found the lifeless bodies of the two boys next to the pool. The bodies were later moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. Mystery surrounds the murder of a woman whose body was found in a hotel room in Naivasha Town.  Police said the naked body of the middle-aged woman was Sunday found at a lodging in town with the throat slit with a knife. A knife suspected to have been used in the murder and a mobile phone also suspected to belong to the suspect who is still at large were recovered at the scene, police said. Somalia-based terror group al-Shabaab claimed an attack that killed four Emirati troops and a Bahraini military officer on a training mission at a military base in the Somali capital, authorities said Sunday. The attack Saturday targeted the troops at the General Gordon Military Base in Mogadishu. Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud offered his condolences to the UAE for the loss of its troops. The final results in Pakistan’s general election have put independent candidates backed by jailed ex-PM Imran Khan’s PTI party in the lead. Independents won 101 of the National Assembly seats. BBC analysis shows 93 of them went to PTI-backed candidates. That puts them ahead of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif’s PMLN who won 75 and it is unclear who will form a government. More than one million people in are currently smoking bhang in coast region.  This is an alarming rate, officials say. National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) CEO Anthony Omerikwa said consumption of bhang had risen by 90 percent. He said the most affected area is in Coast region. Two brothers died in Eregi village in Ikolomani, Kakamega County in a feud over the felling of trees on their father’s land. Three other people including a police officer were injured and rushed to hospital nursing severe machete wounds after a disagreement over ownership of family trees.
