Police are investigating an incident in which a passenger train hit and killed a man in Kiandutu area, Thika Town. The body of the man was discovered on Thursday evening minutes after the train had killed him, police said. The train was delivering passengers to the area from Nairobi when the incident happened. The body was removed to the General Kago mortuary pending identification and autopsy. Such accidents are common on the railway line amid calls for caution from all parties to contain the trend. Some of them are out of suicide mission, officials say adding they cannot contain them.

Al Shabaab militants shot and killed a 13-year-old boy in an attack on a car in Hagadera area, Garissa County. This is the latest incident to happen in the area and seems to be targeting locals. Ex-Paralympian Oscar Pistorius is to be freed on parole from a South African jail, nearly 11 years after murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. He shot her multiple times through a bathroom door in 2013, later saying he mistook her for a burglar. Sudan recalled its ambassador from Nairobi Thursday in protest at President William Ruto’s hosting of talks with paramilitary commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, its acting foreign minister said. A student shot six people, one of them fatally, at a high school in the US state of Iowa before taking his own life on the first day back from holiday break, police said. All passengers coming into the country will be subjected to advance screening using the Electronic Travel Authorization if proposed amendments to the law are enacted. The Ministry of Interior has proposed a Bill, The Kenya Citizenship and Immigration (Amendment) Regulations, 2023 that seeks to amend the principal regulations by introducing advance passenger information (API) and to secure the data. A team of General Service Unit escaped unhurt after their Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (M-RAP) vehicle was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Banane, Garissa County.  The incident happened approximately two kilometres from Banane Centre in Damajale location some 80 kilometers from Liboi police station.
