A woman was arrested on Wednesday for disrupting Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial after she approached the former US president in court saying she wanted to “assist him,” a court spokesman said. Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale flew to Mogadishu for a series of meetings with Somalia’s top officials among them the war against al shabaab. Duale was Wednesday in Somalia where he met President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and the senior officials from the Somali Defence Forces. Police have denied arresting Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza. “Contrary to the false allegations circulating on social media, the National Police Service wishes to clarify, that Police have not arrested Meru Governor, Kawira Mwangaza,” said the police in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). A 60 year old Belgian national died by suicide after jumping from the roof of his house in Runda, Nairobi. He first tried to slit his throat using a blade but did not die. He later moved to the rooftop of his house where he ended his life by jumping off to the ground, police said. A 28-year-old man collapsed and died in a bar as he enjoyed drinks with his friends in Kitengela, Kajiado County. Boniface Bett, an employee at Kitengela Nairobi Women’s Hospital had been with his colleagues at Wam’s pub in the area when he collapsed. Witnesses said he first developed breathing complications before he collapsed. Those present tried to attend to him in vain. At least five people were killed while others sustained injuries in an accident involving a bus, tractor, and a trailer along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. The incident happened in Kambu area in Kibwezi, Makueni County on Tuesday night, police said. Police Tuesday warned the public that Branka International College situated along Mfangano Road, Hakati House in Nairobi is under active investigation following numerous complaints by the institution’s alumni who are crying foul. Fifteen police, intelligence and Kenya Wildlife Service officers accused of being behind the disappearance of two Indians and their Kenyan taxi driver were Tuesday remanded until November 3 for bail ruling. The Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development issued a notice on plans to increase monthly rent on all government residential houses. The State Department for Housing and Urban Development Principal Secretary Charles Hinga, in a letter to his Treasury counterpart Dr. Chris Kiptoo, sought to increase the rent by 10 per cent beginning November 2023.
