Investigations have shown a pistol used in the gruesome murder of detective David Mayaka in Kayole, Nairobi previously belonged to an aide of former Agriculture CS Peter Munya. The firearm, police said, was stolen from Charles Wachira Mahinda in 2021 during a robbery incident in Ngong. A 47-year-old man was killed in a fire incident in Nguna area, Gatundu, Kiambu County. George Muhia was sleeping in his house when he was trapped therein and burnt to death, police said. At least two people were Monday night killed in an attack by gunmen believed to be al Shabaab militants in Lamu. The attackers also burnt down at least ten houses in Salama Village. Witnesses and police said over 30 heavily armed terrorists raided the village between 8.30 pm and 11 pm on Monday. Five people were on Monday injured after two rival groups clashed on a piece of land owned by veteran athlete Kipchoge Keino in Eldoret.
