A 47-year-old man was killed in a fire incident in Nguna area, Gatundu, Kiambu County. George Muhia was sleeping in his house when he was trapped therein and burnt to death, police said. At least two people were Monday night killed in an attack by gunmen believed to be al Shabaab militants in Lamu. The attackers also burnt down at least ten houses in Salama Village. Witnesses and police said over 30 heavily armed terrorists raided the village between 8.30 pm and 11 pm on Monday. Local administrators have confirmed that the terrorists also stole nine goats, TV sets, solar panels and lamps before fleeing to the nearby forest. Three suspected thugs were shot dead by police in separate botched robberies in Nairobi. Police say they recovered two pistols from the suspects. Five people were on Monday injured after two rival groups clashed on a piece of land owned by veteran athlete Kipchoge Keino in Eldoret. The groups engaged in running battles for the better part of the evening forcing police to lob teargas canisters to disperse them. The injured were taken to various hospitals, police said.
