Investigations into the brutal murder of Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi’s aide, Peter Ochieng, could take a new twist after a witness in the case was also murdered on Saturday. Edward Maruti, 35, was reportedly killed following an attack at his home by unknown assailants. Police reports indicate that two men stormed Maruti’s home in Kimilili, Bungoma County, and attacked him and his family with a machete. He succumbed to his injuries. Kiambu businessman who shot wife before turning the gun on himself was apparently feuding with her over a lover. Jonathan Mukundi is said to have killed himself and his spouse, Philomena Njeri, on Monday following a domestic spat. Renowned Televangelist and House of Grace Bishop David Muriithi has been sued for Sh100,000 monthly child support. According to the Star, a woman whose identity remains unknown claims he met the televangelist in 2018. The two were in an intimate relationship that led to the siring of their son in 2019. Mid this month, the International Criminal Court (ICC) confirmed charges against Kenyan lawyer Paul Gicheru for allegedly corruptly influencing witnesses. Gicheru is accused of coercing witnesses to withdraw in the case against Deputy President William Ruto and Joshua Sang for cases against humanity. Wycliffe was a brother to Kevin Omwenga, who was shot dead on August 21, 2020, in his apartment in Kilimani. Authorities in Burundi are pursuing Kenyan businessman Joseph Mboya Nyamuthe after escaping from custody. Mboya who runs several businesses in Burundi was arrested in April 2021 after he was accused of drug trafficking. A Burundian news outlet, Ishami TV, reports that Mboya escaped from Rumonge Hospital where he was being treated on Friday night.
