Three people were Sunday killed in a road accident on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway. This is after a matatu they were travelling in was involved in an accident in the Burnt Forest area of Uasin Gishu county, police said. Seven other passengers were seriously injured in the head-on collision. According to police and witnesses, the matatu, which was travelling from Nairobi to Eldoret, was overtaking several cars when it collided with an oncoming matatu. The Moi Technical Referral Hospital (MTRH) successfully conducted a rare surgery of re-implanting a traumatically amputated hand. The hospital said the patient identified as BK, 35, had his left arm amputated at the wrist following an alleged domestic assault on Tuesday. Police in Nandi County have recovered 63 bundles of polythene bags. The plastic bags were discovered in a motor vehicle (Registration No. KDA 828K) following a road accident on Sunday. Two of the three occupants of the black Toyota Vanguard succumbed to their injuries. Their accomplice, Rebecca Kerubo, is in custody pending arraignment on Monday.
