Detectives are investigating an incident in which three members of a family died after consuming suspected bad food in Vihiga County. The incident happened at Kapsolywa village in Banja location. The victims were identified as Elijah Mwanga, 72, his wife Betty Mwanga, 60, and their juvenile son Francis Indeheli,15. More than 1,000 police officers of the rank of inspector have been promoted in changes in the National Police Service. Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome made the announcement in memos to the affected officers. The promotions according to insiders have been pending for a long period. Kenyan authorities have singled out the forgery of travel documents as the country’s biggest cross-border security concern. In the past year, fake passports and identification documents accounted for 40 percent of the crimes apprehended at the border points in Suam, Malaba and Busia. At least 60 terrorists involved in Tuesday’s Lamu attack have been killed, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki announced Wednesday. Police are investigating an incident in which a 43-year-old man killed his nine-month-old baby by drowning her in a family borehole. Musa Ongaga was later arrested as he tried to die by suicide in the nearby bush, police and witnesses said. Police are looking for a gang that struck Awendo town while hooded and left a trail of destruction on Monday night. The suspects stole about Sh1.8 million from a store, police said. Police have been roped in to investigate the Worldcoin cryptocurrency data collection sessions. The officers visited City Hall on Wednesday to seek information on who booked spaces at KICC grounds and Quickmart outlets to enable the organizers to collect the data.
