A Milimani court on Monday freed 16 touts who had been arrested for causing commotion and harassing passengers.  They appeared before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina and pleaded guilty to calling and pulling pedestrians which resulted in obstruction of free passage of pedestrians. A Nairobi court on Wednesday dismissed an application by controversial televangelist and founder of Ekeza Sacco David Kariuku Ngari alias Gakuyo to have his bail terms reviewed. Gakuyo has been in remand for more than a week now after he was granted bail which he apparently cannot afford. Controversial musician Christopher Mosioma alias Embarambamba accused the Kenya Film Classification Board of discrimination following their demands. In a letter dated March 6, he wants the board to reconsider their insensible demands. The board had on March 5, ordered Embarambamba to delete all his music videos uploaded on his YouTube channel and other social media platforms within the remaining two days of their earlier demand notice dated February 28, over alleged indecent act. John Matara the prime suspect in the murder of socialite Starlet Wahu Mwangi was on Wednesday charged with rape and violence with robbery. He appeared before a Ruiru Chief Magistrate Charles Mwaniki. He is accused of committing the crimes on May 16, 2023. The High Court in Nairobi has overturned the acquittal of former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa in the Sh39 billion fake arms case. In a judgment delivered by High Court Judge Kanyi Kimondo on February 29, it was found that the trial magistrate erred in acquitting Echesa based on a lack of testimony from certain witnesses. Kimondo ruled that the prosecution had presented a strong case against Echesa and that the trial court should have found him with a case to answer, hence putting him on his defense rather than acquitting him. Lawyer Faith Mony Odhiambo clinched the Law Society of Kenya presidency in hotly contested polls. Odhiambo, who floored four other candidates, succeeds Eric Theuri who served as President for two years from March 2022. Supreme Court judges led by Chief Justice Martha Koome now want their names struck out from a petition filed by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) challenging the decision barring Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi from appearing before the apex court.
