Malindi OCPD Matawa Muchangi is dead. According to Malindi Divisional Criminal Investigation Officer (DCIO), the officer died on Monday morning while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mombasa. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has criticized a private investor alleged to have grabbed a road reserve leading to a local primary school in Kiambu county. Officers drawn from the Kenya Wildlife Services are currently fighting a fire outbreak at Chogoria area in Mt Kenya. The inferno is said to have broke out on Saturday 23, around a campsite near Chogoria. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be established. A secondary school teacher is alleged to have committed suicide under unclear circumstances in Shianda area, Mumias East Sub County. The body of Pius Okumu, aged 45, was found dangling  in his shop on Sunday morning by his employees. Seven men were arrested on Saturday for impersonating a senior government officer to defraud members of the public. According to the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the men, who are also accused of impersonating socialites, were arrested after an intense operation. “Seven fraudsters who have been imitating a very senior govt officer and socialites to obtain money by false pretences were arrested today after an intense operation,” said the DCI. Four people have been confirmed dead and several others injured after an accident occurred on Sunday morning at Marula area on the Nakuru-Naivasha Highway. The 1am. accident involved a saloon car -Toyota Wish – heading to Naivasha from Nakuru and a climax bus travelling to Nairobi. Narok County government has ordered striking nurses in the region to vacate government premises in order to create room for their replacements. Reports reveal that the county resorted to evict its nurses after they defied efforts by the county and national government to resume work. The nurses strike entered its third week after some counties failed to implement the demands of the striking workers.
