Embakasi East MP, Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino risks losing his seat after one of his constituents accused him of being in breach of privilege.
Bernard Abuya Momanyi has petitioned the Powers and Privileges committee chaired by Speaker Justin Muturi over the legislator’s fist fight with Starehe counterpart, Charles Njagua (Jaguar) in parliament.
Babu fought with Jaguar after he referred to President Uhuru Kenyatta as a ‘caretaker president.’
Mr Momanyi in his petition wants the committee to recommend that he (Babu) has contravened Article 75 (1) (c) of the constitution and should therefore be removed from office.
The petitioner says that Babu demeaned the office of the Embakasi East MP .
On November 3, 2017 Mr Momanyi wrote to the Speaker looking to ascertain whether he (Owino) had been attending parliamentary sittings.

This was in the wake of opposition MPs boycotting parliamentary business as the house was ‘illegally convened’ by a ‘temporary President.’
Momanyi sought to find out if his MP had written permission from the speaker not to attend the sittings and the number of sittings he had attended since August 31, 2017.
