La Liga leaders Barcelona are reportedly “confident” of signing Manchester United forward this summer for Ksh13 billion.

The 21-year-old star will have one year left on his contract by the end of the season – giving the Catalan giants hope of luring him to Camp Nou.

The Red Devils are keen to offer Rashford a new, improved £300,000-a-week deal to keep him at the club until 2024.

However Rashford is stalling on signing a new contract amid the chaos at United, who have lost seven of their last nine games under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

This is something that the Catalan giants are keen to take advantage off.

Wythenshawe-born Rashford was crestfallen after Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat by Manchester City and gave damning assessment of their performance.

We didn’t play like Manchester United. It’s not right. The bare minimum is to work hard and give all for the badge, the supporters, the club and yourself.

‘It has been a tough road to get to where we are, to get there and not be putting up the same performances as we were in January is disappointing. We know what’s been going wrong, it’s mentality and willingness to run for your team.

‘Forget the league and top four, you don’t lose this game. It’s that simple as a Manchester United fan. We never call each other out but we have to be real with each other. It’s a matter of trying to improve each other.”
