The body of a child who had been missing was found on a farm with napier grass after his murder in Sokomoko area, Saboti, Trans Nzoia County.
The child had been missing for three days before his body was discovered on September 23, 2025 by locals.
Police said the body had multiple physical injuries including the chopping of the male genital organ, and the head had been hit with a blunt object.
The body also had bruises when it was discovered before being moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
The motive of the murder is yet to be established, police said, adding they had arrested a relative of the boy for questioning.
Meanwhile, police in Lugari, Kakamega County are investigating murder after the body of a man was found in the Mapengo area.
Police said the body of the man was found on the banks of river Kipkaren long after his murder.
The body had its arms and legs chopped off and the face had decomposed when it was discovered on Tuesday September 23, 2025.
The body also had many visible injuries when it was found before being moved to the mortuary.
The motive of the murder is yet to be established. Police said they believe the man was killed and the body dumped at the scene.
A team of detectives visited the scene and announced they had launched investigations into the murder.
No arrest has been made so far and efforts to identify the man were ongoing, police added.
