A man was arrested after he murdered his girlfriend in Kiugoine, Nakuru County.
Police said the man used a panga to slit the woman’s throat before he presented himself at the local station where he was arrested.
Police produced Paul Ndungu Gathiru in court under a miscellaneous application over the murder of his girlfriend Mary Njoki Mburu and were granted 14 days to enable them complete the probe.
The motive of the murder which happened on April 13 was not immediately known.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. And a suspect surrendered to police over a murder incident reported in Kipsitet, Kericho County.
In Ngangaru police station, Transmara’s Narok County, a wanted murder suspect surrendered to authorities saying he feared being lynched.
Police said the suspect was wanted by their colleagues in Nyamaiya, Kisii County over the murder of one Jackline Nyanchama, 35 on April 12.
The woman was an in-law to the assailant, police said as they transferred him to Nyamaiya for further processing and possible arraignment.
In Mbita, Homa Bay County, an arson suspect surrendered to authorities following an incident where a house was burnt down.
Police said the suspect will face arson charges.
And a two-year-old boy died after falling on his head in Majani Mingi, Rongai, Nakuru County.
Police suspect the boy hurt his head fatally. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival on April 14. The boy had been playing with his elder sister when he fell near a jiko and died.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy to establish how he died.
Meanwhile, a five-year-old boy was electrocuted in an incident in Garissa town.
The boy was electrocuted by live wires that were hanging after heavy rains were experienced in the area, police said.
Police visited the scene together with the officials from Kenya Power and Lighting and moved the body to the mortuary pending other procedures.
