Craft individuals have teamed up with some Gor Mahia officials to launch a SACCO they call Gor Mahia SACCO. The SACCO which is in no way associated or beneficial with the club is being driven by a the chairman of Gor Mahia.

According to people aware of the happenings, Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier is the person who is behind the SACCO but no other Gor Mahia official knows about the SACCO and details. The chairman who is currently in USA on holiday is said to have roped in some of his powerful friends from Central Kenya to tap on the massive Gor Mahia fan base.

There rumours that Gor Mahia Secretary General Chris Omondi and his deputy Naima Oketch were behind the SACCO but they have denied the allegations saying that they are also in the dark. They have termed the launch “suspect.” But friends of Chris Omondi say that he knows about the launch because he is the person behind the event when Ambrose Rachier is away.

Some officials of the club have already voiced concern in the manner the name of the club is being used. The launch of the SACCO is scheduled to happen this evening (8PM) at Club Meladen in Upper Hill.
